Public Works provides a broad array of services, including refuse and recycling management, roadway maintenance, traffic management, engineering services, fleet maintenance and repair, and airport operations.  The department works closely with other city departments and several City Council-appointed boards and commissions, including the Public Works Committee, Parking and Safety Committee, and Airport Commission.
