The City of Delaware’s Engineering Standards are maintained by the City Engineer and included on this page. The Engineering Standards and are comprised of standard construction drawings, the Infrastructure Design Manual, general notes, plan notes, supplemental specifications, and design & construction policies.

In general, the City follows the City of Columbus Construction and Material Specifications as indicated in the general notes. Where applicable, Ohio Department of Transporation Construction and Material Specifications may be used for city capital improvement projects and land development projects affecting the state highway system.

Update Notices

City Code Section 903.01 provides that "the City Manager shall have the authority to adopt and periodically update standard construction specifications and regulations for all public improvements and connections thereto, and all developments in the City or under City jurisdiction".

When updates to the Engineering Standards are issued, a notice will be posted below with an explanation of the changes being issued. To sign up for email notifications when updates are issued, email engineeringservices@delawareohio.net and request to be added to the Engineering Standards update email distribution list.
