Hills Miller Sidewalk Improvement

Project Background

The purpose of the project is to provide pedestrian connectivity from the existing, large residential developments on the south side of Hills Miller Rd (in the Bruce Road area) to the new commercial development at the intersection of US 23 and Hills Miller Road. The City received several requests for safe pedestrian access to the new Speedway project once it was completed and opened.

Improvements

Continuation of the 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of Hills Miller Road from the west end of the Speedway property to Bruce Road where the path crosses the street at the intersection and then continues to Oakhurst Drive. The project is roughly 700 feet in length and will include a pedestrian crossing of Hills MIller Road at Bruce Road. A rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) will be installed at this crossing as a safety enhancement.
