Administrative Services
Part of the City Manager’s office, Administrative Services provides recruiting, staffing and employment policy functions for all City departments, as well as overseeing risk management and purchasing.
City of Delaware Department of Administrative Services The City of Delaware currently employs over 250 full and part-time staff members with additional seasonal employees added during the summer season. The responsibility to recruit the best candidates to fill this rapidly growing and changing workforce falls upon members of the Department of Administrative Services. From advertising and interviewing to contract negotiations and work policies, the DAS staff assists thirteen City Departments with various employment issues.
Members of the Department of Administrative Services strive to provide employees with a resource for a meaningful interaction with each other and with members of the management. Facilitating labor meetings; involvement in Employee Recognition Board activities; writing and producing an employee newsletter; assisting in health insurance, state worker's compensation and FMLA issues are all activities performed by DAS staff for the benefit of employees of the City of Delaware.
