Airport Commission

The Airport Commission is responsible for matters relating to the Delaware Municipal Airport Jim Moore Field.

Airport Security Committee

Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals is responsible for hearing appeals from individuals in regard to land use and building requirements, or from individuals who are questioning the appropriateness of orders made by City officials.

Charter Review Commission
The Charter Review Commission convenes every eight years to review the existing city charter and make recommendations.

Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission creates and monitors policies for the City’s civil service.

Finance Committee

Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission oversees preservation activities in the city for buildings, structures and places of historical and architectural significance.

Metropolitan Housing Authority

Parking and Safety Committee
Responsible for preliminary review of matters relating to safety, traffic and parking, especially police, fire, building and housing inspection and traffic and parking control.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a seven-member board advises City Council and administration on programming and facility development. 

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission governs land use within the municipal boundaries, including planning, zoning, and subdivisions. The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to Mayor & Council on all zoning and subdivision matters.

Public Records Commission
The Public Records Commission meets every six months in City Hall to review existing city records policies and make recommendations.

Public Works Committee
Responsible for preliminary review of matters relating to public works, especially construction of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and similar facilities.

Shade Tree Commission
The Shade Tree Commission makes recommendations to the city government regarding the protection, selection, planting, and maintenance of trees within our city limits.

Sister City Advisory Board
The Sister City Advisory Board is committed to promoting Delaware as a global city, developing international partnerships and networks, and sharing best practices through citizen-to-citizen connections.
